Medium mahogany running to a darker mahogany tone, a little sunbleached to one side of the top, top also has a prominent split running right across approx two thirds of the way back, a further finer split running from the left side to halfway across the top in addition the top has some surface scuffing and a water marks, there are other small cracks running into the top from the right hand side, frieze looks like it may well have had additional scroll appliques applied to the left and right of the scallop shell, if these were attached then they were glued rather than pinned in place, there is also some chipping around the frieze, legs show fair wear and tear commensurate with use, difficult to age this table, looks to be 19th century but probably not earlier.
