An unusual Chinese Verte Imari and pink enamel dish, c.1730, painted with a fenghua (phoenix) observing a boy and a lady playing a flute in a pavilion, her robes and stool picked out in rose pink enamel, the border with flowers and objects emblematic of the eight immortals, sprigs to the underside, 31.7cm diameter

The Honorable Olivia Vernon Harcourt was the daughter of Lewis Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt and Mary Ethel Burns. She held the office of Woman of the Bechamber to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1951 and was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1958 and Dame Commander, Royal Victorian Order (D.C.V.O.) in 1971.


Slight wear to the gilding and there are a few shallow splinter chips to the edge of the foot otherwise in good condition with no restoration or cracks.
