Oil on canvas laid on to a wooden panel, looks to be in untouched original condition, some fine but stable craquelure scattered here and there throughout the paint and paint does look rather dirty and would certainly benefit from a clean, the canvas does appear to be stuck down to the panel and does not show any sign of undulation, appears not to be signed, housed in highly ornate gilt gesso and oak frame which has dried out and has cracking running throughout, later artist name applied to the frame.
Comes for sale from a local private collection and has been in the family for as long as any one can recall, same owner at Lot 581.
