A late Victorian novelty silver and enamel vesta case, decorated with a large gentleman attempting to mount his horse, maker's mark rubbed, London, 1894, 48mm.

A fair amount of the gilding has now worn away. Under aloupe the enamel appears to be quite heavily 'crazed' with numerous light abrasions, but no large losses.. The silver in general is showing signs of use and wear. Hallmarks clear apart from maker's mark.
