Lot 43 , A Regency gold mounted ivory toothpick case, length 3.5in.
A Regency gold mounted ivory toothpick case, the lid inset with a two colour Wedgwood jasper plaque, the interior with mirror to the underside of the lid, in original red leather case, length 3.5in.
Estimate £300-500
The case is in good condition with just some minor discolouration to the right of the central plaque and maybe to the base where there is also a small mark, possibly a very small crack just along the edge, the interior mirror has lost some of its silvering and the velvet lining is in good order, the outer morocco case has some wear to the extremities of the corners and some chips to the finish but otherwise externally in good order, there is a collectors sticker on the bottom, the satin lining to the interior - the base parts looks original but the lining in the lid looks probably like a replacement.
The pusher (catch) does function and the hinges are in good condition.
