A Chinese white jade seal, early 20th century, carved with a lion-dog finial, the matrix with a four character inscription, the stone of excellent even tone, height 4.3cm

From the collection of a Hong Kong Tea Merchant who worked for Jardine Matheson & Co Ltd, before 1940.

There is the odd minute nick on the edge of the matrix, otherwise in good condition, with no chips cracks or restoration, the stone is semi translucent with mottling inside and of good even colour.
