A pair of Chinese famille rose 'Mandarin' vases and covers, Qianlong period, each of quatrelobed section and baluster form, painted with Mandarin figures in landscapes and amid pavilions, on a cellular ground applied with flowers, leaves and scrolling tendrils, the shoulders applied with a pair of gilt dragon handles, the domed cover with a seated figure finial, 35.5cm, some restorations

First vase has been broken, re-stuck and has some restoration to the exterior and interior including to some of the applied leaves and flowers and to small areas on one of the gilt dragon handles, the accompanying cover has restoration to the two large flowers, the figures head, neck and right hand and an underside edge at the rear left corner, the second vase has restoration to both handles, on the head of the dragon on one and the rear left left of the other, and some occasional restoration to some of the applied flowers on the exterior, including one by the foot and restoration to the edge of the foot next door, the accompanying cover again has restoration to the head and neck and both hands of the figure and to the two larger flowers on top, there is also a large area of restoration to one corner of the underside edge, some of the restoration looks a little 'lumpy'.
