Oil on canvas relined many years onto a very coarse canvas backing, canvas now undulates, the work is very dirty and certainly needs a clean, a few light surface scratches running predominantly in the left side of the work, indistinctly signed and dated lower left, originally painted with the top corners canted, housed in a more recent gilt frame with a paper label inscribed in writing, Christie's stencil no. XS904 verso along with various auctioneers chalk marks, a Russian printed exhibition label? and an ink inscription on the back of the canvas.
