There are fine splits to the horn and ivory on the cover and sides, the left hand panel of horn has sprung up slightly, there is an ivory boss missing to the rear left corner and a small section of the pierce work on an oval ivory panel is lacking on the right hand side, the interior is lined in sandalwood, with some decorative ivory and lac decoration, some of this is lifting a little on the underside of the cover and there is a slight split in the base near the front, otherwise in good condition with the original lock and key.
