A French Empire ormolu mantel clock, modelled as a bookcase flanked by two children reading books, white enamelled Roman dial and unsigned silk suspension movement, width 11in. height 17in.

Original matt gilt finish.
Rather dirty with numerous scattered spots.
Book in the hands of the child on the right is loose but not broken.
Small flaw to the enamelled chapter ring at 4 o'clock.
Movement looks complete but dirty and not run for many years, silk suspension broken, no pendulum or key.
Should restore to good effect.
