A Chinese lacquered bronze seated figure of Buddha Shakyamuni, Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century, seated in dhyanasana on a separate double lotus petalled base, his hands held to his lap in dhyana mudra, the robe overhanging both shoulders chased with floral designs, his chest engraved with a wan motif, spiky curls to his head with domed ushnisha and raised urna to the front, with remnants of gilt lacquer and polychrome decoration all over, height 28cm
