Pastel on paper laid on to a canvas like backing in good condition, of good even flat surface, one short 2 inch tear showing in the lower right corner, that is fairly well disguised, no other faults noted, housed in a highly ornate giltwood scroll frame which shows wear to the extremities and some old cracking, attribution upon it to Madame Louise Elizabeth de France Duchess de Parme, however it seems that the picture in the frame is associated and therefore this is not the true identity of the sitter.
