A late 17th century lignum vitae wassail cup, ring turned on circular spreading foot, 8in.

Has a raised radial crack and movement to the base of the bowl and similar around the foot. The rim is slightly mis-shapen and has a slight open split to an inner layer of the timber on the interior, general fine shrinkage cracks all over, no evidence of restoration or glue, good but dry patina, a little washed out on the interior in places.
