A Chinese Imperial yellow silk 'dragon' throne seat cushion cover, Qing dynasty, 18th / 19th century, of rounded rectangular form, finely worked in couched gold threads and satin stitch with nine five-clawed dragons amid clouds surrounded by Buddhist emblems, bats and peaches above terrestrial peaks and waves, the border embroidered in satin stitch with lotus flowers and scrolling foliage, all on a yellow silk ground, with yellow silk brocade lining, 90 x 126cm

The front is made in two halves, there is a slight colour variation between the yellow ground on one side and the other, and some of the flowers and tendrils don't quite line up from one half to the other, however the gold wrapped threads of the dragon do cross both panels, occasional fluff to some of the silk embroidery, the yellow silk lining is a little stretched in places with lighter areas showing through on the underside, very slightly grubbiness here and there otherwise generally good condition.
