Estimate £400-600

Watercolour on paper, colours still strong, little sign of any fading, possibly a very slight hint of damp discolouration showing a slight teint through the paler parts of the sky, this may just however be an indicator of the original colour of the ground paper, paper undulates a little so thought not to be laid down, a number of small scattered fox marks both under the glass and on the work itself, most notable on the Vrigin's forehead, not signed, housed in probably the original gilt slip which now has some cracking and numerous dirt spots, under glass in a ripple moulded ebonised frame, one old label missing, another old laber for Henry Murcott Frame Maker of Endell Street, Longacre, London, looks to date to c.1900.
