A 19th century French ormolu mounted white marble clock garniture, the lyre shaped mantel clock with laurel leaf borders and enamelled Roman dial signed Jules Graux et Cie, Paris, 22.5in., with a pair of matching candelabra, 21in.

Overall a fair amount of oxidisation and discolouration to the ormolu which is in two tones bright gilt and more bronzed finish, the clock itself requires cleaning and possibly re-gilding of the ormolu, the dial is damaged above 12 o'clock and around both winding holes, the base white marble is off colour and has a chip to the left corner and is missing 3 ormolu paterae from the frieze. Movement stamped Chavard? 3715 looks to be original, bell held on with a screw which may be later, pendulum possibly associated, looks complete but not tested for timekeeping. Candelabra - one in particular is slightly loose and hence the branches are tipping over and rather wobbly, all complete however so just need bending back into shape and re-tightening. White marble now rather discoloured with one panel cracked where the paterae sits over it, the other candelabra equally a little loose but not as out of shape as its companion, similar discolouration to marble, overall a fine quality garniture that should restore to good effect.
