A Chinese blue and white ‘squirrel and vine’ melon-shaped jar, Wanli period (1572-1620), painted with squirrels amongst fruiting vines, between bands of stiff leaves on the shoulder and lower body, the short neck is decorated with a classical scroll band, 12.5cm high, wood stand

Condition:
Scratching and abrasion to the glaze all over, typical minor glaze imperfections. There is a short hairline crack extending from the neck across the shoulder. Otherwise in good condition with no restoration or chips detected.
