A mid 19th century French 950 standard parcel gilt silver Monstrance, by Placide Poussielgue-Rusand of Paris (1847-1891), of typical sunburst form and decorated with cherubs and fruiting vines, the octagonal base embossed with the Angus Dei and The Eye of Providence, on four scroll feet, height 59cm, gross 28.1oz, with original fitted case.

Provenance - John Henry Bickersteth (1825-1906), former Bishop of Exeter; thence by descent.

Some tarnishing in places and some very minor surface scratches in places also, commensurate with age and mild use. Overall condition is otherwise good. Box in quite poor condition.
