Lot 2 , A 16th/17th century German silver gilt 'pineapple' cup and cover

A 16th/17th century German silver gilt 'pineapple' cup and cover, with circular lobed body and cover and engraved foliate band, on a circular base with three barrel shaped feet, possible Luneburg mark, height 13.9cm, 6.4oz.

Condition:
Gilding has worn away in general on the raised parts of the piece, including the cover. Cover a little loose in situ and is unmarked. Tiny split where one foot is joined to the body. Small hole to the underside on one foot. A few small dents in places. 'Toothed' grip to the underside missing some teeth. Fixing plate under finial a later replacement??
