A pair of late 19th century polychrome carved painted pine praying archangels, each kneeling upon a stepped octagonal integral base, 16cm wide, 40cm deep, 49cm high

Provenance- Brede Place, East Sussex, a former residence of the Frewen family from 1712-1936.

Condition:
Both with a fair amount of rubbing and wear to what looks to be the original paint work, some small chips and losses scattered throughout, angel in blue robes with one missing little finger, crack through the centre of his robes and cracks and losses around the base as the most notable faults, angel in pink - top of the upper hand has been broken away and be re-attached, cracking and wear around the plinth.
