A good Chinese hardwood ‘dragon’ throne armchair, c.1900, carved in high relief and open work with confronting dragons and bats amid foliage to the back, with chilong uprights, the dragon shaped arms with flower vase, bat and dragon supports, the frieze carved with fruiting vines, the legs with peonies above claw and ball feet, 114.5cm high, 68cm wide at the arms

Condition:
Three small losses to the horns on the dragon handle of the right arm, and a tooth of the dragon on the left handle. Minor shrinkage to joints with some occasional small areas of filler, minor age cracks to the timber otherwise in good condition.
