Lot 374 , Two Chinese cased fans, 19th century, 20.5cm, both with gilt decorated black lacquer boxes
Two Chinese cased fans, 19th century, the first a paper leaf '100 face' painted and overlaid fan with gilt decorated black lacquered sticks and guards, 28.5cm, the second a Chinese bone and embroidered silk 'dragon' fan, 20.5cm, both with gilt decorated black lacquer boxes
Estimate £150-250
The paper leaf fan is lacking its suspension loop to the guards, slight losses to the gilt borders of the paper leaf, some occasional tears to the paper leaf, some evidence of a few reglued heads but they are the original ones, there is some slight wear to the paper of the interior and the silk on the inside of the box, some wear to the gilt decoration on the box.
The second fan with some light staining to the silk leaf, looks like damage to the silk lining of the interior, slight wear to the lacquer of the box otherwise good.
