Condition:
Publisher’s original black cloth clean and well preserved, with the red heart device to the upper board and red lettering to the spine remaining bright; light shelf-wear and a slight lean to spine. Page edges toned; contents generally clean, with some light offsetting to the front free endpaper and very occasional slight spotting to a few margins. Pencil bibliographical inscription to front free endpaper and small pencil notation to rear pastedown. In the original dust jacket, retaining the 10s. 6d. net price; jacket toned and rubbed, with some wear, creasing and small chips/losses to extremities, the spine panel with some surface wear; verso with old adhesive-tape repairs/reinforcement and associated staining. The volume is additionally preserved in a custom-made leather clam-shell box.
