A chatelaine, 19th century composite, the gilt metal jump ring suspending four pendants from gold chains, including: a gold locket designed as a book, inscribed 'Edwin King Suzie Johnston married 11th July 1876', length 2.7cm including pendant bail; an oval locket with foliate engraving, initialled BSK, length 3.2cm; a telescopic pencil cased in gold; and a carnelian pendant depicting Achilles in profile, in gilt metal, total gross weight approximately 38 grams
