A WWI Japanese officer's katana sword, with early blade (c.1500-1600), shortened, the hilt tip with silver mon in the form of orange blossom for the Udagawa family, unsigned, overall 39in.

Scabbard with surface scratches but no major dents, the blade does not readily slide into however and it appears that some of the wooden lining has dropped down inside, press stud does function, blade with numerous pitting and oxidisation marks and various small chips and dents to the edge, grip and mount equally rubbed and worn from use.
