A huge late 19th century German terrestrial globe by Adolf Henze, 1889 24 chromolithographed half-gores and 2 polar calottes for a diameter of 106 cm. with cartouche HENZE'S ERD-GLOBUS im Verhältniss wie 1:12,000,000 natürlichen Grösse. Druck u. Verlag von ADOLF HENZE in Neustadt-Leipzig, mounted onto two hemispheres, secured with four screw joints, central axis supported on turned ebonised stand diameter 42in. 72 in. (183 cm.) high

Recently restored by Plowden & Smith as the globe came off of its axis.
Signs of restoration from mid to lower Atlantic Ocean and across to the Indian ocean. A fine surface scratch in the Indian ocean.
