Lot 131 , A pair of marble/gilt cassolettes

A pair of marble/gilt cassolettes

A pair of Louis XVI style white marble and gilt metal cassolettes, with rams mask headed supports, on goat's hoof monopodia base, height 44.5cm
Estimate £500-700

Both pieces have one loose hoof at the base (due to missing screw). Some light surface scratches to the metal and several splinter chips to the rims of the lids. One larger chip to one lid. The odd small chip to the bodies but nothing significant.
Both pieces need tightening in general. We believe these could be reproductions.
