A George III silver two handled pedestal cup and cover by Edward Aldridge I, with later embossed decoration and later military related inscription, London, 1772, 11.75in, 34 oz.

Later inscription reads "Robert Loder Esquire by the Officers of the Victoria Rifles to commemorate their kind welcome at the High Beeches, Wednesday 25th May, 1859".
The later decoration on the lid ishowing signs of some wear. There are several minor dings to the interior rim of the lid. Hallmarks on inner rim of lid are clear. The cup itself is in good order, with the later decoration still crisp. Hallmarks on underside of base are clear.
