An extremely rare double action corkscrew, Henry Needham Scrope Shrapnel 1839 Patent No. 8224, with brass ring turned closed barrel mounted with a brass plaque bearing the Royal crest and ‘Patent’, stamped across the top of the steel folding handle H.N.S. SHRAPNEL PATENT, with nickel finial, the barrel collar with a row of small steel rivets that originally held a leather apron, the wire helix lacking the very tip, 16.5cm long to tip of helix with barrel touching handle
