A verbal report from GCS states that the sapphire is of Sri Lankan (Ceylon) origin, with no indications of heat treatment

An extremely attractive stone. Sapphire approximately 10.3 x 10.4 x 6.7mm, known weight 6.48 carats. Excellent, vivid blue colour and an attractive, lively cut. Some silk visible under table. some paler colour zoning towards edges. Some minor chips to girdle. Minor wear. Mount attractive and in good condition, minor wear.
