1996 Chateau Mazeris, Canon Fronsac, cased. (12)
From the estate of the well regarded Lewes collector, Brian Cramp. From a property built in 1769 just outside of Libourne and still owned by the de Cournuaud family, Today this is a rich, ripe, and generously fruited Canon Fronsac produced by the son of the current owner, Jean, who is also the winemaker at flagship Saint-Emilion property Beau-Séjour Bécot. The same opulence and expertise can be found here with an appealing minerality and tension on the core. Dense yet soft tannins give great structure to the wine and the finish is long and fresh.
