Retailed by Carrington & Co., a rare cased Victorian diamond tiara/necklace, London, circa 1900 composed of a series of foliate spikes, set with circular-cut and rose-cut diamonds, mounted in silver and gold, on a gilt metal frame, height approximately 5.5cm at front, inner curve approximately 18cm, totalling approximately 7.00 carats, detaching to combine with a knife wire and rose-cut diamond back chain with rose-cut diamond clasp to form a necklace, length approximately 46cm; together with two brooch fittings, original fitted case stamped Carrington & Co., 130 Regent Street

Condition:
The silver likely rhodium plated. Diamonds bright and lively, slightly mixed colour and clarity grades under close scrutiny, typical of the period, but overall appearing bright, lively and well-matched. In good condition - some minor discoloration to metal. Tiara frame with minor warping, ribbon with some fraying, partially detached, overall in good condition. Overall a lovely wearable example, nicely made and easily transformable, in good condition. Fitted case with some wear, spotting and discoloration to leather, velvet lined base lifting slightly towards back, but overall in good condition, closing securely.
