A bold handsome, American, Vermont 1865 (Civil War) ‘basket’ and lattice, hand quilted and piece tied bedcover, with an ornate floral backing. Worked with a plain navy cotton lattice border around central stylised printed cotton baskets, all set on a plain cream cotton diamond shaped background. Each basket using a variety of different patterned cottons. 210cm x 189cm.

Several (approximately 20) panels stained; two tears to one side, quite close together. See detailed images. The more florid side, in green, red and cream, is more respectable.
