Condition:
Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint rather dirty with a fine craquelure throughout, some white mould showing around the margins, the red bow beneath his chin looks to be a later addition and possibly other overpainting elsewhere, housed in a original gilt frame which is now rather tatty.
