Lot 59 , A large Japanese bronze ‘crane’ hanging lamp, 19th century
A large Japanese bronze ‘crane’ hanging lamp, 19th century, the crane modelled in-flight with outstretched wings and trailing legs, carrying a vessel on its back, suspended from chains, 64cm long
£200-300
Condition:
Both of the legs are loose where it joins the body one with evidence of an old solder repair which isn’t that obvious when it’s pushed in fully but one of the talons on the crane’s foot is missing, typical minor casting imperfections, one of the attachments at the end of the chain has snapped so this would need to be replaced, otherwise in reasonable condition. Wingspan is 58 cm.
