A Victorian fire screen inset with a Japanese cream silk embroidered panel of a cockerel, hen and two chicks, beautifully embroidered with rows of couched silk on the bodies of all the birds, their feathers and faces including the bamboo leaves, creating a three dimensional effect, 63cm high x 58cm wide. Condition - the cream silk background has slight marks, this maybe dust inside the frame. On the left side, the silk is slightly brown. The embroidery is very good in colour and undamaged. The frame needs attention.
