A George III needlework sampler, by Sarah Brotherton, dated 1815, a simple graduated monochrome alphabet sampler, the top worked in fine embroidery stitches, the main part in fine button holestitch around the shapes of capital alphabet letters, her name and date, 25cm high x 18.5cm wide. Condition - the sun has bleached the top half and there are two moth holes near the base, the frame has two sides of veneer missing.
