Condition:
Oil on canvas looking to date to the late 19th century of thereabouts, canvas relined and strengthened with the application of sheets of paper glued to the back, canvas remains tight, surface of the paint poor with numerous areas of rubbing and flaking clearly visible throughout, in addition a fine craquelure running through much of the paint, apparently unsigned, housed in an 18th century carved giltwood frame, by repute provenance from Charles Vereereker, once hung in Clearwell Castle, Gloucestershire and removed after a fire
