Condition:
Oil on original canvas, a large patch on the right side covering the area of the woman's dress, skirt and large dog, a further smaller patch lower down beneath the feet of the woman holding the book, all looks to have been retouched fairly well, housed in probably the original gilt gesso scroll frame which is in good order but for a small flaw near the top right corner, old picture framers label verso.
