This study and grouping of the two girls was used in another work entitled 'The Sand-Martins' Haunt' painted 1876 and featured in Happy England.

Condition:
Watercolour on paper in good condition, perhaps some very slight discolouration in the white paper of the sky, but no real faults noted, slight undulation so thought not to be laid down, washline mount and glazed gilt frame with Arnold Wiggins & Sons of Harrow Road, London framer's label verso along with an inscribed Gallery label.
