Condition:
Oil on canvas relined 30 to 40 years or so ago, canvas remains tight, a fine but stable craquelure running through much of the paint otherwise fair order. attribution plaque to the artist on the frame, ornate gilt gesso frame with some losses around the margins, Christie's stencil numbers verso 996TG and BL4S5. Provenance; Christie's sale; English and Continental Paintings, Oct 1st, 1980 Lot 167 as Sir H.Raeburn.
