Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint with a little fine craquelure and looks rather dirty, no sign of any signature, housed in the original highly ornate giltwood and gesso frame which has some old cracking but is essentially in good order, Christie's stencil numbers verso 883DH and 393DD, old depository label verso as well as a Gallery label for Litchfield & Co of Bruton Street in the top left corner.
