° Lionel Jeffries (1926-2010) - Screenplay, 1st draft, as screenwriter and director of ‘’The Railway Children, of his adaptation from the original novel by E. Nesbit, dated June, 1968, annotated and corrected by Jeffries in black ink and pencil, 139 numbered pages, folio, (33 x 20cms), within a black sprung-hinged binder, the inner board with the director’s bold signature in felt pen, with an inserted pictorial title page, depicting a sketch of ‘’Bobbie’’, the inner back board with a sketch of ‘’Peter’’, both by Jeffries and a handwritten note suggesting an early idea of music by Jake Thackray. Together with a partially filled scrapbook of newspaper cuttings relating to the film, a programme for the Royal Charity Matinee, at the ABC cinema Shaftesbury Avenue, on 22nd December, 1970, his personal white label ‘’for approval’’ copies of The Railway Children studio 2 LP set, with narration by Jeffries, dated 30th November, 1970 and two EMI The Railway Children LP’S., Together with - The Railway Children, 1970 - Thirty seven black and white images, most previously unpublished, showing members of the cast between takes, consisting of twenty-eight images 38 x 20cms; seven images 28 x 35cms. and two images 21 x 25cms; The images principally taken by Ronnie Pilgrim (1913-2003), (official stills cameraman) with others by Brian Duff (1929-2007) etc., The images principally depict Jenny Agutter, Gary Warren, Sally Thompsett and Lionel Jeffries.
