Condition:
Oil on original canvas which is slightly saggy, paint rather dirty with a fine craquelure running throughout that is starting to lift in places, dents and paint loss above 6 o'clock, to the lower right margin and in two places in the sky above the brown sailed boat, the upper damage recently protected with cellotape, the lower damage overpainted black through the artists signature on the back, further black patch down near 6 o'clock which has not proved successful. Other minor scuffs and scratches elsewhere, housed in the original gilt slip but no further framing.
