A Spanish Romanesque limewood Corpus Christi, possibly 13th century, traces of polychrome, ex. Howard Neville 1995 62cm wide 72.5cm high

Condition:
The figure has been largely stripped back with little patina left and some remnants of polychrome decoration notably to the arms and the back of the head. The crown of thorns lacking but some evidence of pinning to the head around the immediate area. Some losses and repairs to both hands and fingers. The carving of the feet is rather rough with possible losses around the area. Many old holes to the back of figure where it was once mounted. The Corpus Christi has a crack extending down the left side of the neck cross the chest and abdomen to the loincloth below, the arms have some gaps at the joints with some old filler around the area.
