Lot 89 , A pair of Minton Sevres style vases and covers, mid 19th century, 41cm high, one cover restored
A pair of Minton Sevres style vases and covers, mid 19th century, each finely painted with floral bouquets to oval reserves within raised gilt decorated borders on a bleu celeste ground, one cover with ermine mark inside, 41cm high, one cover restored
£300-500
Condition:
Both vases with some minor black speckling to the gilding around the neck. The first vase has some discoloured restoration to the gilding on one of the handles and to the edge of the cover, with some crazing to the glaze on the pedestal foot. The second vase has a heavily restored cover which is not a perfect fit, some occasional small speckles of white emulsion paint which will remove with a thumbnail. One of the flower reserves has a small firing crack across it which the Minton painter has cleverly overpainted with tendrils. Some crazing to the pedestal foot, otherwise in good condition.
