A Chinese archaistic burnt jade 'phoenix' vase and cover, finely carved in relief and open work with a pair of phoenix ring handles with scrolling wings, the oval domed cover with twin ring finial, apocryphal Qianlong mark to base, the creamy stone mottled with russet and brown, 20cm high

There are natural inclusions and veins to the stone, one of the veins starting two thirds of the way up on the body extends down across the front of a phoenix towards the base and can be seen as a crack on the inside and outside.
