A 19th century Dutch walnut and marquetry bureau, decorated throughout with floral motifs and flowers in baskets, with fitted interior, well, four short and two graduated long drawers, on bun feet, W.3ft 3in. D.1ft 10in. H.3ft 5.5in.

Overall of slightly faded toffee brown colour, one or two small patches of repaired veneer to the front edge of the top, a small repair near the escutcheon on the slope, lock looks original with signs of old repair but no key, interior fair, old ink stains, a small hole where a knob would have been fitted to slide the lid of the well, brass work rubbed from polishing over the years, one small section of veneer missing just below the top right drawer, minor denting and scuffing commensurate with age, left hand side has small losses to surrounding crossbanding and one prominent vertical split, right side equally has splitting.
