A German gilded white metal chatelaine box in the form of an early book, of rectangular form with hinged cover to each side, one engraved inside with an alphabet and opening to reveal a six-division interior, the other inscribed with 'Vogel bey [bei] Nacht/Fisch bey [bei] Tag/W.S.M.V' and opening to reveal a shallow compartment, fitted clasps and chain and ring suspension, H 3.5cm W 2.5cm

Some loss to the gilding on the 'spine' Two corners have been bent over. A few minor nicks to the covers and edges. Some minor surface scratches also. Clasps work, but one is a little loose. Multi compartment interior has a lot of visible dirt. Minor scratches to interior in general.
