Lot 192 , An Edison Standard Phonograph with cylinder in an oak case, pink painted horn and eight wax cylinders
An Edison Standard Phonograph with cylinder in an oak case, pink painted horn and eight wax cylinders
Estimate £120-180
The leather drive belt is too slack. Once the weight of the needle is on the cylinder, it loses power. The mechanism appears to be in working order but does need attention. The cylinders have some mildew on them. The horn is a bit bent and has some occasional paint loss.
It has a model C reproducer with a diamond tip.
